Educated in London, I returned to Guyana in 1974 where I began my career as an audit senior with Pannell Fitzpatrick before moving onto Grenada and Barbados where I initially worked with Coopers and Lybrand. In 1980 I became a consultant to the Government of Grenada and was attached to the Ministry of Finance. I served as Chairman of Grenada’s National Insurance Board and as Finance Director of the Grenada Electricity Corporation.
Following the 1983 coup d’état, I returned to Guyana where in 1985 I founded the firm Christopher L. Ram and Company since renamed Ram & McRae upon admission of my long-time friend Robert McRae to the partnership. I am currently Managing Partner of the firm.
I have served on several accountancy bodies in Guyana, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom and am currently attending law school in Trinidad & Tobago.
